Marbach Weekend 2011 – American owned Stallion is Double Champion

French Kiss daughter most expensive dressage horse, and a Zapatero son achieves highest bid among the jumpers

Only three stallions were approved at the Southern German Stallion Licensing under Saddle on Nov. 5^th, 2011. And for the first time ever one stallion was awarded the dressage and jumping champion title: Que Amor SB, owned by Shahin Banki from Los Angeles impressed the judges with his elegance and talent. He is by Question de Honneur B out of a Coriano mare, and was bred by Brigitte and Walter Polak from Vilsbiburg. The other two approved stallions were the gorgeous black dressage stallion Lockruf by Locksley II x Gardez, who is bred and owned by the Principle and State Stud Marbach, and Done, a liver chestnut by Don Diamond x Caprimond, presented by Franz Galneder of Taufkirchen. Done, also a dressage stallion, was sold the following day at the sport horse auction for Euro 25,500.00. The other two approved stallions were not for sale.

Although not approved, the stallion Zapzerap by Zapatero VDL out of a Ramiro mare captured the audience with his almost unlimited jumping ability and was the most expensive horse at the auction. He sold for 55,000 Euros to a professional jumper barn in Southern Germany.

A beautiful black mare who looks just like her sire French Kiss, the 2004 world champion of the 6 yr. old dressage horses, was sold for 51,000 Euros to a professional dressage barn in the area. French Queen is five years old and out of a Hohenstein mare. Her extravagant gates and excellent rideability showed one more time that the Southern German breeders do not have to hide behind their Northern neighbors.

Lioness, another black beauty by Lagiator x Wanninger was also a favorite among the guests at the auction. She was sold for 41,000 Euros to the parents of a young rider in Baden-Wurttemberg.

The 2011 Southern German Champion Da Capo by Dancier out of a Lanciano mare was auctioned off for 40,000 Euros.

One lucky buyer was able to secure a wonderful 3. yr. old chestnut stallion by Weltmeyer x Disco-Tänzer for only 10,000 Euros.

Buyers from the United States have not yet discovered this auction, only Sharon Enteen and Doug Prusso, owners of the Falcon Ridge Stables in Woodstock, GA made the trip to Stuttgart, and took home a talented equitation horse named Assassin (it might get interesting to ship him to the US with papers made out to an Assassin J). The bay gelding is by Araconit x Carolus. Araconit is also the sire of McLane Wards international Grand Prix jumper Antares F, who was also bred in Baden-Wurttemberg.

The Baden-Wurttemberg Breed Registry, organizer of the stallion licensing and sport horse auction was very pleased with the auction results.
