2009 German Young Horse Championship

Birkhof's Dave FBW most successful Wurttemberg horse at the German Young Horse Championship - Birkhof's Denario is the big winner of the championship

Birkhof's Denario

After winning the sash in the colors of the German flag in Tubingen, and becoming the Southern German champion in Nordlingen, Birkhof's FBW Sam now also convinced the judges in Warendorf. With a dressage score of 81% he placed 7th in the final qualification. His rider Nicole Casper was able to maintain the score in the finals, and ended up in 6th place, a very laudable result considering the tough competition.

5 yr. old Birkhof's Don Diamond FBW (Diamond Hit x Carolus) won 2 ribbons for 7th place in the final qualifications and in the small dressage final, each time with a score of 79%. This top foal producer was also ridden by Nicole Casper of the Birkhof stud.

The 5 yr. old jumper mare Cover Girl by Contender managed to qualify for the finals with a score of 87%. She was presented by Ines Wolters. Cover Girl had been purchased at the Riedlingen Foal Market, one of the annual sales events of the Wurttemberg breed registry.

A spectacular 5th place in the jumper qualifications made rider Felix Hassmann proud of his mount Horse Gym's Candyman (Candillo x Argentinus).

In the group of the 5 yr. old eventing horses it was Lancelot FBW of the Kirchberg stud (Laissez Faire x Fierant xx) who brought a ribbon back home to Baden-Wurttemberg. A score of 80% were enough to put him and his rider Micheal Jung in 9th place.

Stallions:

Two absolutely spectacular dressage tests made Birkhof's Denario the winner in the 6 yr. old group. He was bred in Bavaria and won the Southern German stallion licensing in 2006. His rider Nicole Casper qualified him with a score of 86%, and she topped this with an unbelievable score of 90% in the finals. Birkhof's Denario had already won the 4 yr. old group in 2007. Our congratulations to the Birkhof stud and Nicole Casper for her diligent work that lead to these excellent results. We also salute the breeder Manfred Lauber who bred his Fair Play mare to Denaro and achieved such a wonderful result.

The Wurttemberg approved Trakehner stallion Herzog (Tambour x Inkognito) showed his chocolate side in the 6 yr. old eventing contest. He won the dressage with 84%, scored a winning 90% in the stadium jumping, and got second place in x-country, making him the winner of the German Young Horse Champion title. Congrats to rider Elmar Lesch and breeder Dr. Elke Soechtig.
