Bronze Medal for Michael Jung and La Biosthetique Sam FBW

European Eventing Championship in Fontainebleau - Sensational Result for Michael Jung

After a flawless and fast cross country ride even the silver medal was within reach for Michael Jung. He and Sam FBW (Stand the Man x Heraldik) had to make up for their dressage score of 45.0, which had put them in 15th place.

Horse and rider, both from Baden-Württemberg, were the only ones from the German team who made it to the finish line. Ingrid Klimke and FRH Butts Abraxxas retired after two refusals. Obstacle no. 14 was the nemesis for the rest of the German riders. Kai-Steffen Meier, Andreas Dibowski and and Dirk Schrade all had a fall at this very jump, and were eliminated. Frank Ostholt was eliminated as well after three refusals.

Michael Jung and Sam FBW had one rail down in the stadium jumping, and won the individual bronze medal. Kristina Cook from the UK won individual gold, and the silver medal also went to UK, which made the British team the winner of this championship
