High Quality Foals at the Fronhofen Foal Market
44 foals were offered for auction at the 2009 Fronhofen foal market.
A stallion prospect by Metteur x De Niro achieved the highest price. The Principle and State Stud Marbach bought him for Euro 5,200. Marbach also bought a colt by Que Guapo x Rico, a colt by Sir Sandro x Ricordo di Leny, and a colt by Colorida x Le Champion.
The private Birkhof stud bought 3 foals. The paid Euro 4,000 each for a colt by Don Diamond x Mitch, and a colt by Don Diamond x Don Cusador. They also purchased a filly by Denario x Florestan.
The trend to lower foal prices could als be noticed in Fronhofen, however, the number of sold foals went up compared to previous years. According to marketing manager Roland Metz a lot of buyers made a spontaneous decision when facing a great opportunity to purchase a young talent for a very reasonable price.
